Android 365: Day Thirty-Six

We're at the park now with Liam. I've got a couple others of water towers that I took this morning. I'll upload those a little later.

---Well, later turned into the following day. This pictures were taken yesterday (Day Thirty-Six), but they were posted today (Day Thirty-Seven).-----

Android 365: Day Thirty-Five

Today is another one of those days with a bunch of pictures. All of which occurred in my living room. I was just sitting there on the couch, tv off, no music, just quiet. Except for the grinding whir of Liam's new Salty battery operated engine. He's a character from the Thomas the Train series... a Salty Sea Dog, the engine who has tales of the sea. Anyways, since we got that little toy, Liam has loved to hook as many trains as he can up to the little engine and watch it pull the huge line of them around his track. We've gone through about 6 AA's in the past couple of days.

So.

I was just sitting there watching Liam watch his trains. I don't know, for maybe 15-20 minutes. He is so interested in how it works and what exactly is going on. He'll go to one spot on the track and wait, poised to watch the long line of train cars come around that specific corner or over one of a few hills. He's very intense, and you'd better watch out if you accidentally put your finger on the track or place anything in the way. He will immediately raise the alarm and clear the track of any foreign objects!

I noticed (well, now I'm noticing that this must be the most I've ever written) but at the time I was noticing the long shadows and the sun coming through the blinds. The photos that follow are how I saw it.

Android 365: Day Thirty-Four

Today we've got a guest photographer for one of the pictures. It's Liam... our 2 year old, I'll let you guess which one's his. Don't feel bad if you guess wrong, it wasn't a bad shot for him. I showed him where the shutter button was and let him take a few! I think he just likes looking at the screen and seeing everything move behind it. It's pretty cute :-)

The other two are of his Toy Story 3 big wheel... oh... well I guess I ruined the guessing part :-/ You see I was laying on the floor recovering from a really hard run and remembered... "Oh crap! I haven't taken my photo yet!" I brought my phone along with me on the run, but it was raining on and off, so I didn't want to take it out and risk damaging it.

So, while lying on the floor I turned to my left and saw his big wheel and thought, "Hey that looks kinda cool!" The lighting was kind of dim, so there's some grain. I just didn't have it in me to stand up and turn the lights on. Forgive me for a sub par day :-(

Android 365: Day Thirty-Three

There's a variety of pictures for today. There was a lot, going on that led to some pretty decent photos... ones that I liked anyways :-)

We got Liam a motorized train for his track. He liked it, but as you can see... he was a little unsure of it.

Android 365: Day Thirty-Two

I saw our Jade's silhouette and thought it looked pretty cool. So, I took it outside and to get a cleaner shot and this is what I came up with.

Android 365: Day Thirty-One

It's so weird to see things like this and imagine them actually being used. Being new and carrying a family and their belongings across the prairie. The really strange thing is that it's such recent history for us, compared to the rest of the world. There are people alive today who were born in the 1800's! That's so crazy!

At times like this I really appreciate our modern conveniences, but at the same time I question all that we can do without.
