Android 365: Day Fifty

The big Five-Zero! For a while I was afraid I wouldn't make it 20 days. Then it was 30... 40... and now 50. Before long it'll be a year!

Here's the grill burning off the leftover salmon after making Meagan a Mother's Day dinner. It had a honey cilantro sauce and I think the sugar of the honey made the fish stick a little more than usual. It turned out OK, but I wasn't extremely happy with the look of it. The taste was there, but it would never make it to dining room if it was in a restaurant.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there!

Android 365: Day Forty-Nine

Photographed a wedding today. As soon as I figure out how to take pictures without the little "beep-beep" focus sound I'll take some during the ceremony or at other times during the event. This was prior to guests arriving and just as I was taking venue shots. It was a pretty place.

Android 365: Day Forty-Eight

I've always liked orchids, but I've also always really sucked at taking care of them. I've killed a couple in my time and have since been afraid to take a chance at owning another one. I heard about these a while ago and was curious at the time, but not enough to get one.

I was in the store today and saw them for $20. They're orchids that are apparently extremely easy to take care of and thankfully for us... hard(er) to kill. Just once a week you put three ice cubes in the pot and that's it! Now, we've only had it for a day now and it's still alive, so that's good news. We'll see how it fairs in the coming weeks.

Oh yeah, I almost had a near disaster with my phone today! I needed to make more room on my SD card so I plugged my Droid into the computer and deleted some photos from the card. Well, a lot of photos 899 to be exact. When I unplugged the phone and tried to take some photos, it didn't work. I could take a picture, but I couldn't find it after it was taken. There's still some problems with it. I can't use it like I used to, but it's manageable and I was able to upload these. If anyone knows what's going on that would be awesome. I could explain further if you need more clues.

Android 365: Day Forty-Seven

Our dinner tonight was pretty picturesque so here it is.

I grilled the salmon and Meagan made the salad and it went a little something like this. Grilled Sockeye Salmon, mixed greens, gorgonzola, chopped bacon, crispy potatoes, spiced walnuts, and raspberry vinaigrette.

Yes it was as good as it sounds! Provided you like fish ;-)

Android 365: Day Forty-Six

“Sometimes you've got to let everything go - purge yourself. If you are unhappy with anything . . . whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you'll find that when you're free, your true creativity, your true self comes out.”
~Tina Turner

Here's Forty-Six. Hope everyone had a good day.

Android 365: Day Forty-Five

Had a long day of shopping today. All photography related equipment... including a tie, a dress shirt, a pair of slacks, oh yeah and an SB-900 a sweet mother of a flash! For a while now, I haven't really liked what I would wear to photograph weddings, so today was the day it was going to change. Meagan and I looked everywhere for something and finally found it at Express Men. Not where I thought I'd find it, but Banana Republic, Macy's, and some of the other places just didn't have what I was looking for.

Needless to say (why am I saying it then? I don't know) there wasn't anything really good to photograph in the store. Well, there was one instance where in the shoe department, an old pair of sandals was sitting next to an open box of new shoes. The new shoe box was empty and the owner was no where in sight. Looks like someone got a new pair of shoes!

Anyways, we stopped by the lake on the way home for day Forty-Five.

Android 365: Day Forty-Four

They eventually made it to a vase. In the meanwhile, I thought they looked kinda cool on the car. Yeah, it's not my best, but we all have off days right?
